The Simply Art Of Change

There are some things in this world I wish never had to change. There are some people I wish never left my life, and some people who I wish were in my life more than they are.

But change is inevitable, and this is so important to recognise.

I used to be stuck in an endless void, telling myself change is bad and destructive. I manifested in this mindset and adopted it, creating a unhealthy negative relationship with this concept of change. This lead me to a dark place that ended up being the reason so much of my life changed in the first place.

In order to progress in life and achieve the things you want to achieve, you have to accept change, welcome it into your life.

Without change you won’t grow.

Imagine going to the gym everyday but never increasing the weight you lift. Yes you will become better at lifting that weight but you will never truly progress if you do not push your limits.

Growth is a fundamental part of living and being human. If we don’t grow, we will not achieve and if we don’t achieve we will not succeed.

Every conversation, every meeting, every event is an opportunity. An opportunity to expand and learn, we can only grow if we expose ourselves to some sort of change.

No matter how big or small, we all have to start somewhere.

It doesn’t have to be scary and yet when we think of change, we get scared and excited. We fear the unknown but fear we will miss out if we don’t go there. As humans we all seem to settle in this comfortable place, the same job, the same people, day in, day out. Nothing changes, no one grows.

And yet, there will come a time when we all complain and ask ourselves, What is my purpose? This can’t be it for me?

You are right. You are so much more than you are letting yourself be but that’t the problem. This is all you are letting yourself be. You are in control of your life, you decide where it goes and how you lead it. You can decide to do nothing with this power or everything.

So take this on board, right now stop what you are doing and just decide. Decide to believe in yourself and believe in your talent and skills. Decide to be determined and achieve great things. It is all in your power and you have the power to do it. We all do.

We all have the opportunity to grow, so take every one that comes along.

Everyone has something they want; but only so many people get it. Think about how many people are making resolutions this year. Convinced they will rid of their bad habits over night.

What was yours?

A better diet? Go to the gym? Be more organised?

Well did you know after the first two weeks about 95% of people have already given up on these resolutions.

That is a shocking 5% of people who actually push themselves, believe in themselves to grow and do better, be better!

Why isn’t that a higher number?

I’ll give you a clue; fear.

We are simply just too afraid of what might be.

Don’t worry, you are not alone. We have all been there, maybe some more than others but we can all relate to this fear of what is to come.

I want to challenge you to take up the opportunities that scare you. Within this next month I want you to go to that interview, open up to someone, trust, love, achieve. Whatever it is that you feel will better your life, give it a chance to do just that.

So what is it going to be? Will you achieve something this time? Don’t let it be another empty ‘new years resolution’, I believe you can do it, so should you.

Remember, it doesn’t matter how small; a conversation, a meeting; everything is an opportunity to grow.

Now, go and take action.
